This document will help you get to some of the most helpful locations in Alter Aeon. It will help you tremendously if you try to envision the world in your head when you play the MUD. That is, think of it as a real environment, plotting out each location on a map in your head. If you possess this skill, you will quickly become familiar with the environment.
I shall try my best to describe it to you. We use "Recall" as the central, starting point of the map. When your character is first created, you are placed above this area, in the entrance of the MUD school. Please collect the necessary items, kill a few monsters in the dungeons, and then, type "recall" to be transferred to our starting point.
OK, so you are now in the center of the map. This is where all directions to locations in this document will start from. You are in a large city. The school seems to dominate a large area, possibly near the middle of the city. Far to the west lies the forest or the "Newbie Hunting Grounds." To the far north lies the slums. I haven't explored the far south much yet, but it is what is referred to as the "Southern Road." The city has gates on all four sides, enclosing it from the dangers lying outside.
These are places that you will visit frequently, to train certain necessary statistics, gain levels, manage gold, etc. These places have been placed in their own section in this document because they are extremely easy to get to from recall.
NOTE: You do not need to go here once you have passed the first level or two of your class(s). This location is for beginners to gain easy experience points.
This trainer can help you in strengthening certain abilities such as wisdom, intelligence, etc. You can also use him to learn spells and gain levels. As you become more experienced, the trainer may tell you that he is unable to help you any longer. In this case, you will have to find a trainer who specializes in your class of interest.
This is where you should store your gold earnings. If you do not deposit them in the bank, you may lose them if you end up snuffing it in a battle.
HINT: Always use the command
sac corpse
after killing an enemy to sacrifice it to your God and earn some gold. It won't be much, but it will add up as you continue battling.
COMMANDS: use
money
to see your gold status. Use
bank deposit amount
to deposit the specified amount into the bank. Use
bank withdraw amount
to withdraw the specified amount from the bank.
The forest is where you should go to gain more experience. Usually, this is an area used by newbies to gain experience points for numerous reasons. The animals here are easy to kill, but beware the bear! :)
This is a nice community for gaining easy and quick experience points. It is located somewhere southeast of recall.
Another great place for obtaining easy experience points. The people keep coming back, so you will never run out of victims.
Absolutely one of my favourite locations in the lands. There seems to be continuous battle here. Thus, it is a very nice place to rack up those experience points. Beware, however, some of the creatures may attack you first.
There is no escape from this pit so far as I've observed. This means that you must "recall" to leave.
First travel to 'Inside the Chapel', the chapel located near the city of Thalos. Type 'pray here' to add it to your list of waypoints if you haven't already done so.
Be warned: all of the vikings and novice vikings attack automatically! Please travel to Shrine to Dentin first before proceeding. Use the 'pray here' command to add it to your list of way points if you haven't already done so.
This is a deed that will be placed in your 'deeds' list if you solve the puzzles successfully. I died once figuring it out; therefore, I'm not telling you how to solve it. I'm merely giving you directions to the area it's located in.
